The
Hyphal
Knot

Unraveling the mycelial maze
one knot at a time.

About

Fungi are the lens here. We use mushrooms and mycelium to make sense of health, food, materials, and the systems that keep ecosystems and communities working. We follow the threads that connect a fruiting body on a log to new textiles in a lab and to practices that keep forests alive.

You will hear from cultivators, foragers, scientists, and builders. We move from kitchen grow kits to pilot-scale bioprocessing, from field ID to policy shifts, and from personal practice to community-scale impact.

If a path runs through the mycelial maze, we map it.

Grow & Forage

Practical cultivation, substrates and spawn, clean workflow, and responsible ID in the wild.

Mind & Body

Functional and gourmet species, nutrition and cognition, safety, and realistic outcomes.

Research & Tech

Mycelium materials, textiles, bioprocessing, and applied research that leaves the bench.

Policy & Ethics

Psilocybin and broader regulation, access, equity, and the choices shaping mycology’s future.

Episodes

We are recording now. The Hyphal Knot is a fungi-first mycology podcast, and titles and details may evolve while we publish short clips and field notes on socials. Full conversations will land on YouTube.
